Purchased the Shiel Buffet Black Gloss.

The ABSOLUTE WORST!!!
Arrived with all the gloss panels covered in cling film to prevent damage during shipping….which would have been helpful if the panels and clingfilm weren’t scratched like crazy before being packed. Every panel had scratches through the foot, into the gloss panels. Very visable damage. Contacted Customer Service straight away and was offered $45 compensation to keep the scratched up unit. I declined, so they upped it to a whopping $60….Shopping alone was $85… but being on a time restriction, decided to build the unit hoping it wouldn’t be too noticeable, only to discover step 1 in the instructions asks for 2 bolts t9 be screwed into the same should back to back, which was impossible to do as a single screw alone was 3/4 the the width of the shelf. Contacted Customer service again and was told they’ll get back to me, and offered the $60 compensation AGAIN to keep the faulty product. I suggested a replacement as I liked the unit for the space I was using it in, but I asked if they could check they product before it left the warehouse so I didn’t get another faulty unit, they said they couldn’t guarantee it as they couldn’t physically check things before they send them, not even as an exception in this case. This was Friday Morning and wasn’t replied to I untill Monday afternoon saying there should be a small screw in the pack, this screw is not mentioned in the hardware table or marked as a different screw in the instructions, and big surprise, was also NOT in the box. By this time I had tried to make do to see if the unit was possible to use, time restraint remember. During continuing to build, the were 2 MORE faults. One hole where a dowel was ment to go, was filled in, and another hole where a screw was ment to go was about 10cms in the wrong direction. But this time I had had enough. Had informed Joki from Customer of the faults as I went. Finally 8:49 on the Monday, they agreed there was nothing more they could do and they’d refund the product, and that I had to dissemble the entire thing and repackage it for them. An absolute joke. Not only wasting my time with a crappy faulty unit, but can i now pack it back down for them? What a waste of a company. I suggested their freight company collects it as a built unit, but they won’t accept it, just want their customer (well not any more) to use more of their time to make their costs easier. Also asked for the situation to be passed on to a supervisor as the Consumer Guarantee Act is basically be taken as a joke, Joki decided to just keep replying instead. Save your money and your time, and don’t even bother with this Company

I bought this unit to use with a 65-inch TV. The weight of the TV seems to be too much for the unit as it warps the top piece. The TV is about 9kg under the weight limit for the TV, so in theory there shouldn’t be a problem. However, the design seems to leave much to be desired. The material is not great as it looks like an outer layer was stuck on, it isn’t as refined. For the price you get quite a lot and once set up, it looks pretty good, especially with the lights on. But the practical use is lost with this unit due to its design. It would probably work if you mounted the tv to the wall and have this below it.
Overall I can’t recommend it due to lack of structural integrity.
